J. Cole’s new album, The Off-Season, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the sixth time in a row. The project sold 282,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Billboard, with 325.05 million on-demand streams and 37,000 typical album sales.

It’s the biggest hip-hop sales week of 2021 so far, and the second-largest overall frame behind Taylor Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version). J. Cole has had six No. 1 songs, with the exception of Born Sinner, which debuted at No. 2 against Kanye West’s Yeezus before rising to the top in its second week.

Nicki Minaj’s Beam Me Up Scotty is in second place, following the rapper’s commercial release of her fan-favorite 2009 mixtape. In its first week, it sold 80,000 copies and received 85.57 million streams. For its streaming release, the album, which first helped launch her career with beloved songs like “Itty Bitty Piggy,” includes a handful of new tracks.

Next week, both artists will face new pop powerhouse Olivia Rodrigo, whose debut album, SOUR, is expected to debut at No. 1.
