Postgraduate applications at the University of Cambridge are now open for interested candidates who want to register and compete for a fully funded Gates Cambridge Scholarship for courses starting in the 2022-23 academic year.
To be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship, you must first apply for admission to a programme and a College place, then complete the Gates Cambridge element of the funding section. When examining applications, Gates Cambridge has access to the whole application for admission and funding.
How to Make an Application
Applicants must complete a single application form. The Graduate Application Portal is where applicants submit their applications for admission and financing (Gates Cambridge and other funds).
The admissions section
Is where you apply for a specific graduate programme as well as a College spot. You’ll fill in the blanks with information about yourself, your academic experience, plans, and suitability for the suggested course.
The funding part
In this section, you can apply for a variety of funding opportunities provided by the University and affiliated organizations, including the Gates Cambridge Scholarships, which have their own sub-section.
You will be expected to produce the following documents when applying for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship:
“In no more than 3000 characters (about 500 words), please explain why you are applying for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and how you fit the four primary criteria,” we ask on the application form. At gatescambridge.org, you may find complete instructions on how to apply, including selection criteria and advice on how to fill out this statement.
PhD applicants are only required to submit a research proposal as part of their grant application to Gates Cambridge.
Gates Cambridge reference: Gates Cambridge applicants must submit a reference describing their suitability with the scholarship in addition to two academic references for acceptance.
