Logic short description brief bio

Logic is a rapper from Gaithersburg, Maryland, in the United States. He has a sizable online following and is a member of the RattPack, which means for Real All The Time and refers to his group of buddies with whom he collaborates.

No I.D. cosigned him to Def Jam Recordings in 2012, and he is currently signed with Visionary Music Group.

Under the artist name “Psychological,” Logic unofficially published his debut mixtape, Psychological: The Mixtape, in 2009, which was sold locally in Gaithersburg. He’s released six more mixtapes and seven studio albums since then.

As a young rapper, Logic was influenced by the Wu-Tang Clan and motivated by RZA, who created the music for Kill Bill Vol. 1, the film that encouraged him to start rapping. Another major influence on Logic was Frank Sinatra, who inspired him to create the alter identity ‘Young Sinatra’ and release his debut mixtape in 2011.

He went by a variety of aliases, including Hitman, East Koast Killa, Lord Subliminal, and Skittles, before settling on “Psychological,” which he shortened to “Logic” to make it easier to say.

Along with prominent rapper ScHoolboy Q, he was named one of XXL’s freshman of the year in 2013.

Logic’s debut studio album, Under Pressure, was released in 2014 on his label Def Jam, and it delves deeply into his childhood stories, including gang violence, parent separation troubles, and his quest to become the best.

Logic (rapper) founded his own record label, Team Elysium, in 2017, and it was renamed Bobby Boy Records in 2019. Big Lenbo, Damian Lemar Hudson, and John Lindahl are among the founding members. According to Logic, the label was created because:

I don’t trust anybody else with the precious cargo that is my family.

In 2018, Logic launched two musical projects, Bobby Tarantino II and YSIV, disclosed his plans to make a film, and admitted to writing two novels, one of which was titled Supermarket and became a New York Times Bestseller immediately after its release. It was also accompanied by the same-named music.

Confessions of A Dangerous Mind, Logic’s sixth studio album, was released in May 2019 and features collaborations with Eminem, G-Eazy, Will Smith, and Wiz Khalifa.

With the release of his album No Pressure, a followup to his first album Under Pressure, Logic announced his retirement in July 2020.

Logic announced his return to the music industry as his stage name on June 16, 2021, and released “Intro” just over a day later.
